SEMINARIO
Given the increasing attention paid in Europe to the issues of designing the landscape, the evolution and success of this concern in the contemporary architectural and city planning debate, it strikes us as important to reflect on the responses to this new cultural demand in European landscape design schools, which have the mission to educate new generations in how to interpret and design the landscape.
The goal of this seminar Dessiner sur l’herbe in the Canary Islands is to decide, in the face of the new positions being adopted on contemporary landscaping (from the building-landscape to landscape urbanism, from the rehabilitation of abandoned places to the periurban landscape, etc.), what will be the focuses and paths to be taken by the different schools.
Addressing these new concerns, the proposal is to compare the stance of various universities, analysing the practices of research and teaching of landscape design in leading European architecture and landscaping schools.
