LAS CUATRO CARAS DE NUESTRO ESPACIO TURÍSTICO
2009
Commented photography

Attracted by the mild weather of the islands and by the exoticism and safety of this destination, tourism has become a major economic activity in the Canaries. In turn, the impact of tourism on our territory is the origin for the development of road and airport infrastructures, elements acting as accelerators of construction processes. This knowledgeable professor of urban planning examines the present-day landscape hosting mass tourism in the Canaries. What space do the consumers of our landscape find? On this occasion, Eduardo Cáceres stops to consider the typologies of the Southern areas of Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

EL ATLAS ECOCLIMÁTICO DE CANARIAS
1999-2009
Projected photographs, diagrams and video

The exhibition presents the ecoclimatic atlas as a tool for a systemic and operational management of the environment based on research by this university professor. For Juan Pedro, we are currently going through times of crisis, environmental crisis, planning crisis … a complex crisis demanding a new way of thinking. Systemic solutions capable of addressing the several variables involved in the processes and dynamics we are immersed in. Proposals that require a systemic visualisation of landscape, with multidisciplinary, dynamic and transversal interventions in environmental concerns.
