The gaze of these three photographers focuses on the image of port spaces.

The port is currently understood as a territorial superstructure at a global level. Our perception of these spaces has changed. The relationship between the port and the city has evolved to the point of loosing more direct perceptive links. The imagery of the post used to be docks, boats, sails, goods, smokes and constant travellers. Nowadays they have turned into huge expanses of containers, giant cranes, massive infrastructures whose functioning is totally alien to the life in the city. This creates a breakdown in the interaction between port and city. The port’s parameters for service and development are different to those of the urban growth, which generates a new landscape.
