Poetics of Landscape

ABSTRACT
The seminar Poetics of Landscape is underwritten by a sense of plurality and a diversity of gazes and stances on the created and recreated landscape, even in the knowledge that it is impossible to cover them all. We know that both concepts, poetics and landscape, themselves contain multiple definitions. As such, the programme developed by this seminar wishes to ensure a wide range of different ways of approaching and observing the landscape (from emotion, reflection, knowledge,…), and also with respect to the poetic components that are recognisable in some of these approaches, in some of these visions. Imagine: form, silence, rhythm, rumour, light—in itself, in passing time, days and seasons (the four we know and those unknown ones yet to come). The idea is to make an advance in the understanding of contemporary gazes on the surroundings in which we live. Or the hunger behind the barren or flooded fields of the landscape.
